Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Boston Waltham
A budget Waltham stay with an actual pool
About this hotel
Most of the corridor's budget-tier hotels skip a pool entirely, which makes this Fairfield by Marriott a genuine standout for a group that wants both a low rate and somewhere to unwind after a round in summer humidity. Free breakfast and free parking cover the basics, and The LOCAL Kitchen & Drinks sits a four-minute taxi ride away for a proper dinner without paying resort-hotel prices to get there. Minute Man National Historical Park is a nine-minute taxi ride for a rain-day detour, and the three-minute walk to the Second Avenue corridor keeps errands simple. At twenty-six minutes from Logan by taxi, the transfer matches the Waltham norm, though the public transport option here runs over two hours, long enough that a taxi is the only realistic choice.

Our take
This suits a budget-conscious group that still wants an indoor pool for recovery, a rare combination at this price tier in the corridor. It is a weaker fit for a group planning to rely on public transport for the Logan run, given how long that option runs from this property.
- Use the indoor pool after a humid summer round; it is a genuine perk most budget-tier hotels in this corridor skip.
- Plan on a taxi rather than public transport for the Logan run, which stretches past two hours from here.
- Book The LOCAL Kitchen & Drinks for a group dinner that beats the hotel's own food options without adding much drive time.
