easyHotel Reading
Snug rooms, purely functional and budget-priced
About this hotel
easyHotel Reading strips the stay down to the essentials: snug, functional rooms with en-suite bathrooms, parking and air conditioning, without the restaurant or bar found at the mid-range and business hotels covered elsewhere. It sits seven minutes by taxi from the Museum of English Rural Life and a minute's walk from Swansea Road. It's roughly forty-two minutes from Heathrow by taxi. For a group whose only real requirement is a clean, air-conditioned room to sleep in between rounds, it does exactly that at one of the lower price points covered here. Accessible throughout, it strips the stay down to exactly what a group needs to sleep between rounds, without the restaurant, bar or fitness facilities found at the mid-range and business hotels covered elsewhere on this list.

Our take
Book this purely on budget grounds; it's genuinely one of the cheapest options in Reading and delivers exactly what the name suggests. Groups wanting any on-site restaurant, bar or recovery facility should look toward the mid-range or business hotels instead, since none of that exists here. None of the mid-range extras exist here, which is exactly the trade-off for the genuinely low nightly rate.
- Plan dinner elsewhere in advance, since there's no on-site restaurant to fall back on here.
- Pack any extras you'd normally expect from a hotel, since rooms here are deliberately stripped to the basics.
- Confirm parking availability directly ahead of a group arrival, given the tighter, budget-focused footprint of this particular property.
Why we love it
- Genuinely one of the cheapest rooms here
- Air conditioning included at a low rate
- En-suite bathrooms across every room type
- Pet-friendly policy welcomes the whole group
Why guests love itWe knew exactly what we were booking with easyHotel: a clean, air-conditioned room and nothing more, which suited a trip where the golf budget mattered far more than the bed. We ate out every night since there's no restaurant on-site, but the price meant that was easily worth the trade. We knew exactly what we were paying for and got precisely that: a clean, cool room and nothing more.
