Caversham Lodge
A highly reviewed budget stay near Caversham
Over dit hotel
Caversham Lodge sits firmly in the budget tier but carries a strong review record among the guests who've stayed there, a minute's walk from Swansea Road and nine minutes by public transport from Reading Museum. Free parking and a pet-friendly policy cover the practical basics, and it's roughly forty-three minutes from Heathrow by taxi. For a group after a genuinely low-cost bed with a better-than-expected reputation among past guests, it's worth considering ahead of some pricier alternatives. It's still a small property without a restaurant or bar on-site, so plan dinner elsewhere and treat this purely as a place to sleep between rounds of golf, but the review record makes it worth considering ahead of pricier alternatives nearby. It's a fair choice for a tight budget.

Ons oordeel
The review record here punches above the price point, which makes it worth a look for a budget-focused group. It's still a small property without a restaurant or bar, so plan dinner elsewhere and treat this purely as a place to sleep between rounds. Treat this purely as a place to sleep between rounds rather than a hotel with its own evening amenities.
- Plan meals elsewhere in advance, since there's no on-site restaurant to fall back on at this property.
- Book ahead given the smaller room count typical of a lodge-style budget property compared with the larger chains.
- Confirm public transport timings into central Reading if travelling without a car for the evenings.

Waarom gasten het geweldig vindenWe booked purely on the strength of the reviews and weren't disappointed; a clean, simple room at a genuinely low price, with free parking that made the trip's overall budget easy to manage across four nights of golf. The strength of the reviews here was the deciding factor, and a clean, simple room at this price backed it up. Nothing fancy, just what we needed.
